These words were famously spoken by Yule Brynner in the movie “The Ten Commandments”. Brynner played the role of Pharaoh just as our current president has been doing for some time now. Today as a result of the overwhelming failure of his “Health Care Law - Obamacare”, he issued an edict from the throne. The requirements will be suspended for one year; to avoid the unnecessary problems and pain this is causing the American People.
The problem is, what Pharaoh is really doing is postponing the pain. All dictatorial leaders will do this from time to time. They apply extreme pain and pressure and then they will let go just a little bit. That small letting go relief’s the momentary pain and attention of the people, but it does nothing to cure the root problem. I am referring to the lack of respect for “The United States Constitution”. If things feel wrong my friends it’s because they are, actually they are very wrong. Under our system of government no president has the power to arbitrarily select pieces of a law and apply sections of it at will and make modifications at will.
By now most of you are saying, “What are you complaining about?” he stopped this thing. That’s exactly the problem, if he has the power to stop it by himself, then he has the power to start it by himself.
Today he got up and said, “So let it be written, so let it be done”; that my friends, is called a dictatorship.
God save our country from the path it is on.
We should as a nation be looking for ways to get medical care to those who need it, and we should be doing it because we are a great people with great principles, but not by trampling the one founding document that has kept us together.
